Un-Plated’s Virtual Kitchen Series: Indian Appetizers

August 13, 2020

Un-Plated hosted its first ever Virtual Kitchen Series with guests learning how to make popular Indian appetizers from two of the country’s top Indian chefs— Chef Heena Patel of Besharam in San Francisco and Chef K.N. Vinod of Indique and Bombay Bistro in the DMV.

Chef Patel demonstrated how to make Dahi Wada—lentil fritters served with mint chutney and a cool yogurt sauce. Chef Vinod demonstrated how to make Papri Chaat—an street food favorite made with chickpeas, potatoes, and chutney. Sommelier Erlinda Doherty was present to talk to our guests about how to pair wines with Indian flavors and, specifically, for these two dishes.

The price of the ticket included access to the live-streaming event, copies of the recipes with chefs’ notes, and a list of recommended wine pairings for the evening. As an added bonus, those who lived in the San Francisco or DMV area received a 10% discount for a takeaway meal from the participants restaurants.
